Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items allow players to raise the level of items that can be equipped, such as weapons, armor, and trinkets up to a certain amount. They can be done at any upgrader NPC using the appropriate currency.
Upgrade components are integrated into equipment to give bonus effects and attribute bonuses. These are usually slot-restricted but there are certain universal upgrades.
Rerolling
In Diablo 4, a player can roll a new upgrade to an item. This is done through the Level Up mechanic, which pauses the game and displays a list of four randomly chosen upgrades. The player can choose one of the upgrades and continue the battle. Rerolling is the same price as the normal Level Up. However players should be cautious when selecting an upgrade as they won't know what the new stats will be until the item is changed.

The player can roll 10 times per battle. After rerolling the item, its weight will not change. However its base power and upgrades are reset. The item will still be enchanted following a reroll.
In item upgrading to rerolling, Genshin Impact players can purchase and use different mechanics to improve their gacha performance. Sets

To upgrade a weapon or piece, go to the NPC [ArmorTo upgrade a piece of gear or weapon, you must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade your weapon, you will need 1 of 3 Power Dices. The first one is droppable from all monsters 21plus, while the other two are droppable from Giants and Bosses. Each upgrade will cost a different amount of Erons and Minerals. The more powerful the item, the higher the price.
Generally, weapons have higher trade value when upgraded to the maximum level due to their increased base damage. However, there are some weapons that offer a high trade value even when unupgraded because they provide useful stats that are appropriate for certain builds (e.g. Whistan's Shield is a good shield for FB Sorcs. There are also a few unique and set items that don't require upgrading since they have minimal requirements or benefits from upgrading (e.g. Goldwrap Naj's puzzler's staff.
Certain sets have set bonuses which give additional effects if Link wears the whole set. These are useful in certain situations, such as when exploring the Gerudo Desert or in a dungeon. The Desert Voe Set, for example, has an Stealth Up feature that makes it easier to sneak by enemies.
There are also universal upgrades that can be incorporated into any kind of equipment. These upgrades have lower rewards than those restricted to specific types, but they are also much more accessible to acquire. Some of these upgrades are gems, which can be created in a jeweler and can be utilized in any trinket slot. Other upgrade components can only be used in weapon accessories, and provide a small bonus without increasing damage.
Requirements
Upgrades are an important component of enhancing the strength and efficiency of your characters in battle. Upgrades can increase the stats of an item or add a prefix or suffix. The amount of stats an item can upgrade depends on its rarity. Upgrades can be found in dungeons and raids or bought from vendors. They can also be found by chance or looted from other players.
There isn't a tenable game design solution to the problem of the "not worth it" feeling that some players experience when upgrading certain items. The game should provide more information in its compare interface regarding the upgrade, for example: "X stats gained, or X stats loss." However, that is impractical to implement due to the many layers of complexity are involved in the process of comparing. There simply isn't enough space in the UI to do it right.
An alternative solution is to create an application that will check the requirements for upgrading an item prior to allowing it to be upgraded. This approach is ideal for systems with a small amount of upgradeable items and a simple upgrade dependence. A sword can be upgraded from Sword+1 to Sword+2. A script could check for the Item Definition attribute of each upgrade, and then set the Item Status to "upgraded" to verify that the upgrade was valid.
This solution is more flexible, but it does require an additional program. It is not suitable for systems with complex requirements.
A second solution would be to allow players to upgrade their weapons and armor. These upgrades, called refores by some, boost the item's stats and decrease the cost of the item. The power of reforges varies and the Orb of Transmutation or Orb of Embrace are the most powerful.
Costs
The upgrade of a piece of equipment can boost its physical strength, spell power and health (for armor and rings) or give it a bonus effect while it's in your inventory. You can get upgrade elements through crafting or purchase them from vendors. They can also be looted or dropped by other players on the Trading Post, or as rewards. Upgrade components can be put into armor, weapons, and trinkets. They can also be attached to tools for gathering. However, most upgrade components cannot be salvaged or replaced, unless with the help of an Upgrade Extractor. However, there are exceptions for glyphs, which can be salvaged by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
Based on the type of item, upgrading it can cost Dilithium or gold. Some upgrades also require Flightstones or crests. The amount of crests or Flightstones needed to upgrade an item varies on the gear's level and the maximum upgrade level is determined by Blizzard. The upgrade to the highest level can be costly particularly when you're upgrading PvE gear.
Item upgrades can also change a weapon's ammunition type or size of the damage die and size, alter its operational or unwieldy weapon's property, or alter the hand requirements. Certain upgrades can even alter a weapon's appearance.
While boosting stats is the main goal of upgrading items, you should consider the cost of upgrading an item prior to making an investment. Spend your gold on rare items and not on items that are of the common or magic tier. These items aren't worth upgrading, and rare gear will soon surpass them.
If you're unsure about whether or not an upgrade is worth it, ask your guild members for advice. There may be better upgrades for less money. Upgrade your gear as soon you can, as upgrades get more expensive with time. If you are unable to afford the upgrade costs it might be better to wait. This will allow you to reach your potential.
